A blade is done when it tugs, skips, or looks damaged, not when a package says 'up to 12 shaves.' Hair, angle, and whether you dry the cartridge change that number more than the marketing count does.
A razor blade should be replaced when it tugs on the first pass, shows nicks or corrosion, or starts causing irritation that your usual technique does not explain. Printed shave counts assume a beard, a pressure, and a rinsing habit they cannot know. Drying the cartridge and not knocking it on the sink will usually get more comfortable shaves than a calendar reminder will.
